Salsa Loop

Slow it down. Loop the tricky part. Repeat until it's in your body.

Salsa Loop helps you learn dance moves from YouTube videos. Share a video from the YouTube app (or paste its link), mark where the move starts and ends, slow it down, and dance along while it repeats.

How it works

  1. In the YouTube app, tap Share → Salsa Loop. Or copy the link and tap Paste in the app.
  2. Hearing a song on Spotify? Tap Share → Salsa Loop there too: Salsa Loop finds the same song on YouTube. (Spotify itself can't be slowed down by other apps.)
  3. While the video plays, tap Set loop start on the first beat of the move, then Set loop end.
  4. The loop repeats at 75% speed. Pick another speed any time.
  5. Press play and get to your spot: there's a short countdown first.

Sharing with your partner or class

The library

Loops and routines shared by dancers, free to use: Library on the home screen, or on the web. To publish your own: open a loop or routine, tap Share, then Publish to the library. See the library rules; anything reported is hidden until we've checked it.

Questions

What does the unlock add? Your own videos, hands-free practice of routines and sharing. It's a one-time purchase through Apple, shared with your family. Bought it on another phone? Open any unlocked feature and tap Restore purchase.

Can I use Instagram or TikTok videos? Those apps don't let other apps play their videos. Save the video to Photos (in TikTok: Share → Save video), then add it with From your phone.

A video says it can't be played. Some video owners don't allow their videos to be played outside YouTube. Try another video of the same move.

I don't hear the "5, 6, 7, 8". iPhones don't play spoken audio while the silent switch is on. The count is also shown big on screen.
